Google has launched Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, a rapid model that outperforms Haiku 4.5 in benchmarks. However, this performance boost comes with a cost increase ($0.10/$0.40 to $0.25/$1.50). At this new pricing, open-source models like Minimax M2.5 might be more attractive for developers, offering superior performance albeit slower than Flash Lite’s remarkable speed.
OpenAI has also updated ChatGPT’s default model to GPT-5.3-Instant.This revised model features enhancements in behavior, including reduced hesitation, fewer refusals, better web search integration, and improved writing capabilities. This is the version most users interact with in ChatGPT. Additionally, Codex is now available on Windows as well.
Google Workspace has introduced a CLI for various services, including Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, and more, with a robust focus on agents. One of the team members involved has also published a blog on adapting your CLI for agents.
The Information reports that OpenAI is developing an internal competitor to GitHub. Similar to the launch timeline of OpenAI’s browser Atlas, which was reported 11 months prior, this development might take some time. OpenAI is also reportedly in discussions with The Trade Desk to incorporate advertisements into ChatGPT and is potentially planning for an IPO, having recently engaged with a law firm for assistance, as noted in this report. Notably, Jensen Huang hinted at this development. Additionally, OpenAI’s annual revenue is now approximately $25 billion, only slightly above Anthropic’s $19 billion.
