As summer approaches, residents of the Hudson Valley are seeking ways to stay fit and active. However, a popular local gym has announced it will be temporarily closing, prompting many to reassess their fitness plans.
Typically, the winter and early spring months draw individuals to gyms as they work towards their New Year’s fitness resolutions. But with summer just around the corner, a local gym is altering this routine by shutting its doors soon. Starting March 1, this closure will lead to an adjustment in workout habits for many.
Planet Fitness Closure Announcement
Planet Fitness in Wappingers Falls has shared on its Facebook page that it will close for significant renovations. The gym, located in the Home Depot plaza, will cease operations at 7 PM on Sunday to begin a comprehensive upgrade, promising improved spaces, modern amenities, and new equipment.
This renovation project is scheduled to take a few months, potentially continuing until late spring or early June. While members will miss out on their local gym during this time, they will have the option to visit nearby locations in Fishkill and Poughkeepsie. This shift may increase traffic at those gyms, making them busier than usual.
Although the temporary closure may be inconvenient, the anticipated improvements could make the wait worthwhile. As the saying goes, “no pain, no gain.”
