March Roundup: 13 Key Insights

March was a month dedicated to mindfulness and the concept of slow living. Within this space, we explored various approaches to nurturing our well-being while simultaneously indulging in our passions.

Throughout the month, I shared my journey with mindfulness, especially in relation to my passion for beauty, as described in my post on The Beauty Diet. My collection had spiraled to an overwhelming size, but I managed to breeze through March, purchasing only a mascara and a lipstick. By decluttering my space and letting go of unused products—an endeavor I discussed in Spring Cleaning Your Beauty Stash—I found that embracing less actually enhanced my sense of well-being. While I don’t plan to stop blogging about beauty anytime soon, I am now more attuned to mindfulness in my approach.

Emphasizing self-compassion is vital. We often engage in harsh self-criticism, labeling ourselves as “stupid” or doubting our capabilities. These negative thought patterns can become problematic when we become our own worst critics, expressing sentiments to ourselves that we would never voice to a loved one. If you relate to this struggle, I highly recommend checking out my post on 4 Ways to End Negative Self-Talk.

The topic of self-care also came to the forefront, as it has been a personal challenge for me over the years. To be honest, dedicating time to myself felt unnatural for a long time; I often found joy in being productive. I spent years falling asleep with my laptop next to me. However, I am now making a conscious effort to embrace a slower pace and incorporate self-care into my routine, even if it’s just enjoying a morning cup of tea.

One of my favorite posts from last month was 25 Things To Do By Yourself, which revealed that I’m not alone in my enjoyment of solitary time.

In the realm of blogging and photography, I shared insights on editing blog photos with Photoshop and capturing better Instagram photos this month. Creating can be a challenging endeavor for anyone with a creative outlet, and I discussed this struggle in my post on Things to Do For Your Blog When You Don’t Feel Like Writing. We also tackled procrastination in this post.

If you follow my beauty articles, you might have noticed my current fascination with skincare. I’ve shared insights on favorite drugstore products, skincare mistakes to avoid, and recently highlighted new skincare products that I’m loving.

Finally, I continued with my regular series featuring What’s In My Makeup Bag and Lovin’ Lately.

What was your favorite post from this month? For my fellow bloggers, did you share a piece in March that you’re especially proud of? I’d love to take a look!
