Updated January 2026! While dairy-free donuts are still absent from the offerings in North America, Dunkin’ has evolved into more than just a donut shop. In fact, they officially rebranded from Dunkin’ Donuts to Dunkin’ in early 2019, reflecting their wider range of menu options. As of now, they provide more choices for special diets in the U.S. compared to their direct competitors. Check out the complete Dairy-Free Menu Guide for Dunkin’ below, or use these links to jump to specific sections:

Dunkin’ Dairy-Free Menu Guide with Custom Order & Vegan Options
Take note of the special order requirements indicated in parentheses next to menu items and refer to the Heads Up notes for additional information. This guide is tailored for U.S. locations; options may differ internationally.
Dairy-Free Milk Alternative: As of March 5th, 2025, Dunkin’ no longer charges extra for non-dairy milk, becoming the last major coffee chain to eliminate the surcharge. Current options include Almond Breeze vanilla almond milk and Planet Oat Oatmilk. Soy milk was discontinued in 2014, and at the end of 2023, they removed coconut milk beverages and refreshers from the menu.
Other Allergen & Dietary Notes: All items listed below are free from egg, nuts, and peanut, unless specified in the name or parentheses. All beverages, snack bacon, and hash browns are gluten-free, but Dunkin’ does not currently offer gluten-free bread products. Most items contain soy oil and/or soy lecithin but do not include soy protein. The dairy-free drink menu is also vegan-friendly. For vegan food options, see the Vegan Menu Guide at the end of this post.

There is always a potential risk of allergen cross-contamination in any commercial kitchen. If cross-contamination is a concern for you, it’s best to consult the manager before placing your order. The inclusions here do not guarantee safety for specific dietary needs. Ultimately, that decision is yours.
Different locations within a chain restaurant often have varying management and staff, which can lead to discrepancies in processes, ingredient use, and sourcing. Always verify the safety of your order according to your needs at your current restaurant location.

Where to Find Dunkin’
In 2018, Dunkin’ Donuts closed all of its remaining locations in Canada. However, they maintain a robust presence in South Korea along with a few select restaurants in Asia, South Africa, Europe, and South America. In total, Dunkin’ operates nearly 12,000 locations across 36 countries, though this guide specifically focuses on U.S. Dunkin’ shops.

question about may contain dairy

I stopped going to all Dunkin’s when I became was diagnosed with a diary allergy. The “may contain” statements are on food products, and they are unregulated. They are even less of a standard practice in restaurants. If you are concerned about trace cross-contamination, you must speak with the manager/chef at any restaurant location you visit before ordering. You must ensure that location has allergen protocols, and can tell you what the risk levels are. Dunkin' Donuts, like most restaurants, puts a “may contain” for all top allergens at the top of their allergen information. This shields them in liability and lets the consumer know they must be personally allergen-aware.

Response from Go Dairy Free
I believe the employee misread the package (please let me know if you verified otherwise). It has a “may contain” for possible cross-contamination warning for all relevant top allergens that might be present in the production environment (including milk). Here are the ingredients, followed by the allergen notes (as published by Dunkin):
Braided Apple Pie
INGREDIENTS Enriched Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Ascorbic Acid, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Amylase, Folic Acid), Apple
Filling (Apples, Sugar, Water, Corn Starch, Cinnamon, Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid), Palm and Canola Margarine (Soy), Water, Sugar, Salt.
ALLERGENS Soy, Wheat
WARNING May Contain Egg, Milk, Sesame, Tree Nuts (Almonds, Hazelnuts, Pecans, Walnuts)
