Our upcoming goal, as detailed below, is to maintain our enhanced daily Links feature. In response to the Trump era, we’ve increased our daily links from 55 to around 60 leading up to the 2024 election, and now we’re at approximately 65 to 70.
This increase in information demands significant effort, but the consistent influx of news necessitates it to provide you with a comprehensive overview. Many of you share that our Links section is a crucial start to your day, often serving as your primary news source, even for those outside the American time zones. We appreciate your assistance in keeping this essential resource up to your high standards!
So far, we have received 639 donations and are moving toward our target of 1,100 donors. We’ve also been thrilled to receive numerous enthusiastic messages, alongside a healthy influx of first-time donors. Both of these trends are promising signs for the long-term sustainability of our platform.
However, it’s worth noting that the total number of donations is slightly lagging compared to previous years. We recognize that many of our loyal readers and sponsors may not have had the chance to contribute yet. As we mentioned in our kickoff post, we expanded our Links section from a pre-Covid high of 45 links to between 65 and 70. This represents a substantial, daily commitment that requires additional staffing and a corresponding budget increase. All team members are working diligently, without raising compensation levels in line with this enhanced workload (although Conor is remarkably efficient, assembling quality links faster than I can).
Additionally, thanks to Conor’s focus on sourcing diverse perspectives beyond mainstream media, we now offer a broader range of content and viewpoints than ever before.
