A man wanted on multiple warrants was arrested in Colorado Springs on Friday night. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that the suspect was spotted near a business at North Academy and Woodmen Road around 7:30 p.m.
Described as a prolific offender, the man was under investigation by the Metro Retail Pawn Metal and Organized Crime unit and had active warrants from jurisdictions including Denver, Pueblo, and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
When approached by police, the suspect attempted to flee through the parking lot. Police engaged in a chase, during which an officer deployed a taser to apprehend him. He was taken into custody without further incident and later transported to a hospital for suspected fentanyl use.
The suspect, identified as Mario Beltran, is currently held in the El Paso County Jail facing multiple charges and holds from various agencies statewide.
