NJ mother faces obstruction charges after ‘missing’ teenager discovered in crawl space

A New Jersey woman, Jennifer Buckley, has been charged with obstruction after her missing son, a 17-year-old, was found hiding in a crawl space in their home. The boy’s father reported him missing when he did not arrive at a scheduled drop-off. Buckley allegedly misled police, claiming she couldn’t find him and expressed concerns about his safety.

An investigation revealed inconsistencies in her statements. Police later discovered the teenager in the crawl space, indicating he had been concealed there by Buckley. Fortunately, he showed no signs of harm. She has since been arrested and charged for obstructing law enforcement.

East Brunswick Police Chief Frank LoSacco emphasized the seriousness of juvenile missing reports and condemned providing false information to the police.
