The Morongo Band of Mission Indians is set to host its 35th annual powwow next weekend, celebrating Native American heritage and culture. This vibrant event will feature traditional music, dance, and community gatherings aimed at honoring tribal elders and educating younger generations.
Attendees can expect stunning displays of color as hundreds of dancers perform in traditional regalia, along with traditional bird songs and jingle dress dancing that showcase longstanding customs. Last year’s event attracted over 30,000 spectators, with more than 900 dancers and 20 drum groups from the U.S. and Canada.
Everyone is invited to join in the festivities and experience the hospitality of the Morongo community. For more information, visit morongo.com and NBCPalmSprings.com.
