North Korea Remains Off-Limits for Private Vehicles Despite Bridge Inauguration with Russia

Traveling to North Korea in private vehicles will be prohibited for Russians and other foreign nationals, despite a new road link between Russia and North Korea. According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), independent tourist access is not permitted, meaning travelers will need to rely on organized bus tours for their visits. This announcement came shortly after the opening ceremony for the first road bridge across the Tumen River between the two nations.
