In the aftermath of the Rams’ impressive 28-6 victory over the Giants, head coach Sean McVay candidly reflected on the team’s disappointing Week 1 loss to the 49ers in Australia. He humorously critiqued his travel decisions, joking, “sometimes you have a dumba– coach,” acknowledging the challenges posed by their lengthy flights and preparation methods.
McVay’s comments came after the Rams struggled with their travel strategy, which favored maintaining Pacific time over adapting to local conditions. This approach was in stark contrast to the 49ers, who acclimated more effectively by staying in Australia throughout the week. Despite this setback, McVay defended his decision-making, emphasizing the intent behind his choices while also appearing to accept responsibility in a light-hearted manner.
The Rams’ strong comeback performance may have set the stage for a more successful season as they regroup and build momentum.
