Remembering Susan Lim: A Tribute to a Veteran Concert Producer
Artists and colleagues are honoring the legacy of veteran concert producer Susan Lim, whose career significantly impacted Philippine productions and the international Filipino entertainment scene.
Lim passed away on September 14. Following her death, notable artists such as Pops Fernandez, Martin Nievera, and Roderick Paulate shared heartfelt tributes, reflecting on her extensive work in the entertainment industry and their enduring friendships with her.
Her journey in concert production began in the early 2000s, prominently associated with Big Slim Entertainment. Among her notable projects was a 2003 concert in Manila featuring stars from Meteor Garden, including Ken Zhu, Vanness Wu, and actress Barbie Hsu. That same year, she also played a crucial role in organizing a concert featuring the entire F4 group.
Lim’s contributions extended to the North American market, where she collaborated with Nancy Yang of NY Entourage Productions in 2022 to plan U.S. tours for artists Alden Richards and Gigi de Lana.
More recently, she was integral to the SexBomb Girls reunion concert series, which commenced in December 2025 and expanded into performances in the Philippines and abroad. During the tour in Australia in April, Rochelle Pangilinan publicly thanked Lim, recognizing her as a co-producer alongside NY Entourage Productions.
Fernandez reminisced about Lim as a longtime friend, noting her passion for concert production that began in her youth. Nievera acknowledged her support throughout his and Fernandez’s careers, facilitating U.S. tours, while Paulate expressed gratitude for their friendship.
Lim is survived by her wife, former SexBomb member Cynthia Yapchingco, who conveyed a loving tribute following the news of Lim’s passing.
