Annual Pet Blessing Ceremony Held in Manila

Every year on October 4, Catholics celebrate St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, by bringing their pets for a special blessing. In Manila, parishioners lined up for a priest to sprinkle holy water on their pets, including dogs, cats, and even a snail. This annual blessing honors St. Francis’ message to respect and care for all of God’s creation.
