A tragic incident occurred when Geordan White, a 60-year-old man from Redding, California, drowned while attempting to rescue his dog from Shasta Lake. On Friday morning, White jumped into the water after his pet fell in, but soon began struggling. Despite the efforts of nearby boaters who threw him a flotation device, he was unable to hold on and disappeared beneath the surface.
Rescue teams later recovered his body, and an autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death. Fortunately, White’s dog was saved by a 911 caller who helped pull the pet from the water. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office expressed condolences to White’s family and reminded the public about the importance of utilizing personal flotation devices while on the water. White was remembered by the local music community as a kind individual who would be missed.
