Jon Lauck: A Passion for the Midwest
Jon Lauck, a Madison native, has dedicated his career to politics, law, and history, contributing significantly to the exploration of Midwestern culture. His recent appointment as the executive director of the Center for Western Studies at Augustana University is seen as a culmination of his passions, following the retirement of longtime director Harry Thompson.
Lauck aims to continue Thompson’s legacy while offering events and conferences like the annual Boe Forum. One highlight on the calendar is the upcoming Lost Region Conference on Midwestern Studies from November 19-21 at the Washington Pavilion, featuring notable speakers such as Jonathan Martin from Politico.
For those interested, admission to the conference is free, although registration is encouraged.
