Nashville International Airport (BNA) Plans for Busy Fall Break Travel

As Fall Break approaches, Nashville International Airport (BNA) is gearing up for its busiest travel period of the year, implementing several measures to manage increased traffic and passenger volume. The peak travel days are highlighted as October 4, 11, 18, and 25.

Key Travel Tips:

  1. Use Terminal Garages for Pickups:

    • Avoid circling Terminal Drive.
    • Parking is free for the first 30 minutes; $18 for 30-60 minutes; $36 for over an hour, with a daily maximum of $36.
  2. Utilize the Cell Lot:

    • A free cell lot is available at 1415 Murfreesboro Pike; allow 20-30 minutes for passengers to reach the curb after landing.
  3. Take Alternate Routes:

    • Consider I-40 Exits 216A and 216B or access via Murfreesboro Pike.
  4. Arrive Early:

    • At least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights.
  5. Plan Ahead:

    • Allow extra time for parking, check your flight status before leaving, and review TSA travel guidelines.

Additional Information:

  • Airport staff are being increased, particularly focusing on parking and valet operations.
  • Shuttles now allow up to seven vehicles to transport passengers to the Satellite Concourse.
  • New traffic signals and manual traffic direction by the Department of Public Safety will help manage congestion.

Ongoing Construction Updates:

  • Terminal Garage 1 Exit: Closed to facilitate construction on a larger rental car facility.
  • New Signalized Intersection: Directing traffic effectively for rental car and valet users.
  • Central Core Enhancement: Project enhancing escalator/elevator access.
  • Economy Lot B: Entrance and exit relocated.

BNA encourages travelers to be aware of these changes and to plan accordingly for a smooth travel experience this Fall Break.
