DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — Dothan city commissioners postponed a vote on an animal shelter contract with Wiregrass Pets on Tuesday, seeking further details about the monthly costs associated with the agreement.
City Manager Randy Morris explained that a flat monthly fee was negotiated to be more cost-effective than a daily charge per animal, which would have been higher due to the volume of animals the city and public bring in.
The commissioners opted to delay the decision until they can review additional information regarding the costs before making a final vote on the contract.
