Two science-fiction series generated with AI, “Space Nation” and “Kira,” will have their pilot episodes premiere at the TV market Mipcom next week in Cannes. Both shows are produced by Ex Machina Studios and represented globally by K5 Intl. This marks a significant event as it is reportedly the first time fully produced AI-generated episodes will be screened for buyers at an international market.
The pilots will be shown on October 12 and 13 at Cinéma Les Arcades, near the Palais des Festivals.
About the Series:
- Space Nation: Co-produced by Utopai Studios and Globoplay, this series consists of eight 45-minute episodes set in a future where humanity’s survival depends on elite pilots battling an alien threat. The show is created by Marco Weber and Martin Weisz, with Vanessa Coifman as the writer. It has secured a partnership with Globoplay as a co-producer, making it a Globoplay Original.

- Kira: Announced recently, this is Ex Machina Studios’ second series, consisting of six 35-minute episodes set on the living planet Djena. It follows Kira, a young girl seeking her father amidst rival factions. The series is created by Damien Steck and Julien Petit.
K5 Intl. claims to be the first sales company to represent a full slate of AI-generated series and feature films. K5’s CEO, Daniel Baur, emphasized the filmmaker-driven nature of both series, highlighting their strong scripts and visionary directors.
