Annual Fill a Truck Pet Food Drive in Carson City
CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO)— Michael Hohl Chevrolet GMC is hosting its annual Fill a Truck pet food drive throughout October. This initiative follows a successful Show N Shine event with the Reno Corvettes Club.
The drive encourages community members to contribute pet food and supplies for pets owned by individuals experiencing homelessness. Donations can be dropped off at Michael Hohl Chevrolet GMC, located at 3700 S. Carson St., until October 31. All collected items will support Feeding Pets of the Homeless in providing essentials through its local network.
Corvette Club’s Contribution
The Reno Corvettes Club held a Show N Shine event on Saturday, October 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. During this event, club members showcased their vehicles and donated pet food to the cause.
Genevieve Frederick, founder and president of Feeding Pets of the Homeless, emphasized the community’s collective effort: “Each year, Michael Hohl and the Reno Corvettes Club show what can happen when a community comes together around a shared purpose. The pet food collected here stays in our community, helping people in need care for the pets who provide them with companionship, comfort, and unconditional love.”
The Reno Corvettes Club has been a longstanding supporter, donating tens of thousands of pounds of pet food and supplies over the years.
What to Donate
Acceptable donations include:
- Canned and dry dog and cat food
- Treats
- Open bags of pet food (securely taped)
- New and gently used pet supplies (collars, leashes, bowls, toys, beds, crates)
