Volkswagen Launches In-Car Gaming with AirConsole on September 25, 2026

Volkswagen of America is set to launch N-Dream’s AirConsole in-car gaming platform in select 2027 models, marking it as the first major automotive brand in the U.S. to offer this type of in-vehicle entertainment. While brands like Audi and BMW have previously integrated different in-vehicle gaming experiences, Volkswagen’s offering allows passengers to play multiplayer games via the vehicle’s infotainment display, using their smartphones as controllers — but only while parked.

The platform launches with 20 games, including well-known titles like Pac-Man Championship Edition and UNO Car Party. It aims to foster shared experiences among passengers. Rachael Zaluzec, CMO of Volkswagen of America, emphasized that this innovation is meant to transform everyday moments into enjoyable shared activities.

AirConsole will be available on several 2027 models, including the Atlas and Tiguan, and will feature ambient lighting options that sync with gameplay for a more immersive experience. Volkswagen plans to offer exclusive content through the platform, enhancing fan engagement with custom-branded games.

The service is part of Volkswagen’s premium connected offerings through the myVW app and requires a subscription following a complimentary period. For new vehicle owners, three months of free subscription is offered for most models, while the ID. Buzz includes a year.
