James Blunt’s wife signed him up for The Celebrity Traitors, and he had to quickly catch up on the previous series before filming at Cardross Castle in Scotland. During his appearance on The One Show, Blunt revealed he learned about his participation from his wife, Sofia Wellesley, who enrolled him without his prior knowledge. Fellow contestant Joe Marler expressed confidence in Blunt’s chances to win, calling him a potential “dark horse” of the show.
In a lighthearted exchange, Blunt quipped about their similarities, suggesting they might be brothers separated at birth. Last season’s winner, Alan Carr, successfully deceived other finalists by pretending to be a fellow contestant. Reflecting on past contestants, Blunt said he would love to emulate either Carr or Marler.
Another contestant, Joe Lycett, shared his concerns about how his true personality might be perceived after being known primarily for his comedic persona. He noted that while comics understand him, others may view him suspiciously when he isn’t in ‘show mode,’ emphasizing that he is actually calm and thoughtful in his personal life.
The Celebrity Traitors is set to return to BBC One on October 1.
