Attempted Burglary in Colorado Springs Leads to Arrest
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – One individual has been arrested following an attempted burglary, as confirmed by the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Authorities responded to multiple reports of a disturbance at a business on Airport Road, just west of the Powers intersection. One caller, an employee, reported that someone who had previously been trespassed was causing a scene.
Another caller warned dispatch that an employee was allegedly trying to kill them and that an individual involved was armed with a gun.
When officers arrived, they learned that the suspect had managed to force their way into the locked business, brandishing a straight razor and threatening an employee who sought refuge in an office.
The suspect attempted to escape as police were arriving, but officers were able to detain the individual, who was initially uncooperative.
CSPD has charged 48-year-old Tamil Mitchell with felony menacing and burglary.
