AB Energy USA has successfully secured around 2 GW of power generation capacity for five on-site data center projects in Texas and Oklahoma. This capacity will be provided through the company’s ECOMAX modular generation units, which utilize INNIO Jenbacher gas engines. These projects aim to deliver on-site power for data centers, incorporating cooling solutions that use absorption chillers to recover residual heat from the engines for chilled water production.
Many of the projects are being developed in collaboration with Eradeh Power Consulting, which specializes in AI and hyperscale data center power systems. Eradeh’s contributions include load-side engineering expertise, focusing on aspects like step loads, ramp rates, and voltage transients for behind-the-meter and islanded power systems.
Additionally, some projects will integrate Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and other technologies to enhance operational flexibility. AB Energy USA has confirmed that it has procured the necessary equipment for the current 2 GW portfolio and is planning for additional unit availability to meet the anticipated demand from data center clients in the coming years.
