The Gas Coordination Group recently convened to assess the current state of the gas market. They reported that, while storage levels are lower than usual, EU gas supply remains stable. The Commission will continue to monitor the situation closely with EU countries and stakeholders.
During the meeting, ENTSOG shared preliminary findings for its Winter Preparedness Report, which will be published on October 8. The group also reviewed the enforcement of gas supply standards under Article 6 of the Security of Gas Supply Regulation (2017/1938), confirming that supply to protected customers, like households and essential services, will be maintained during serious adverse events.
Another meeting, including gas associations, is planned for October 8, 2026.
