Women-Driven Car Show in Appleton Challenges Stereotypes
APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – Traditionally seen as male-dominated, car shows are getting a makeover in Appleton, where women took the wheel at a recent event aimed at reshaping perceptions.
On Sunday, classic car mechanics collaborated with the local group “Heels and Hemis” to showcase over a hundred vehicles owned and driven by women. This event focused on promoting inclusivity in the automotive space.
Activities included a meet-and-greet area for car enthusiasts, a tattoo artist providing small tattoos, and a food truck to satisfy attendees. Drivers expressed their enthusiasm for showcasing their beloved vehicles, emphasizing that car culture is not limited to men.
“There are a lot of girls out there with hot rods and fun cars, and it’s not just a guy thing,” noted Jackie Stoeger, one of the participants.
Additionally, the event featured a vendor’s market composed of women-owned and operated businesses, further highlighting the impact of women in the automotive community.
