Husker Football Watch Party at Memorial Stadium
Get ready for an exciting first away game of the Husker season! Campus Nightlife is hosting a watch party for the Huskers’ match against the Michigan State Spartans on September 26 at 4 p.m. The event will be screened on the big screen at Memorial Stadium.
Event Background
Noah Fochek, a senior accounting major and director of finance for Campus Nightlife, shared that this event has been a tradition since 2017. “It’s a good gathering activity. It brings people together,” he noted.
Jadyn Taylor, a junior in hospitality management and an admin at Campus Nightlife, explained that the event began as a Parents’ Weekend activity before being embraced by Campus Nightlife, which now manages vendor contracts and marketing.
Activities and Atmosphere
Attendees can partake in various activities, including yard games, inflatables, and a photo booth. There will also be a surprise halftime entertainment segment. Fochek emphasized the importance of community, stating, “The event is an opportunity for students to take a break from the more stressful side of college.”
Taylor hopes attendees will feel a sense of belonging and celebrate Nebraska football together. “We want to make sure that shows throughout all of our events,” she asserted.
Unique Experience
Fochek highlighted the unique experience of being on the Memorial Stadium field, rich with history. “It’s an opportunity you wouldn’t get unless you were an athlete or working for athletics,” he said.
Taylor added that the event aims to be fun and inclusive, inviting all students to show their Husker spirit: “We just want students to feel like they have a place to be their most authentic selves.”
Additional Information
The watch party will feature open concessions, and attendees can bring blankets. The event is free for students with an Event Pass.
