On Par Entertainment is bringing a unique blend of suspense and excitement to the Halloween season with its inaugural event, OPE! Murder Mystery: A Killer Halloween, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15, from 7-11 p.m.
Event Details:
Participants will immerse themselves in a captivating storyline where they must solve the murder of Victor Blackwood. Teams will explore the venue, collecting clues, scanning QR codes, and solving challenging puzzles to identify the murderer among five suspects.
Daniel Huiet, owner of On Par Entertainment and the Great Escape Game, describes this event as a competitive twist on traditional murder mysteries, emphasizing teamwork and strategic planning:
“This is going to be a lot different than [other events]. You are trying to figure out who is the murderer and solve all the puzzles in the quickest time.”
Structure of the Event:
- Teams will navigate through five themed rooms, each housing a suspect they can interrogate.
- A timer will add pressure, as each section must be completed before teams can move on to the next.
Ticket Information:
Tickets are priced at $50, which includes:
- A $20 prepaid drink card
- Free soda
- An appetizer bar featuring tater kegs, chicken tenders, and mozzarella sticks
For those who don’t drink, a modified ticket is available, granting access to the same benefits minus the drink card, replaced instead with two mini golf coins.
Winning teams will receive gift cards as prizes. The venue will be closed to the public to ensure an uninterrupted experience.
Huiet is hopeful for a strong turnout, aiming for 200 tickets. With a spacious 33,000 square foot venue, there’s plenty of room for participants to engage fully in the mystery.
“Being closed to the public is helpful because we can focus entirely on those participating in the murder mystery,” Huiet said.
