Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has recently launched a state-of-the-art innovation space at Leisure City K-8 Center. This newly redesigned area includes an interactive floor and modern furniture, creating an open environment that encourages collaborative and creative group activities among students.
Key Features of the Innovation Space:
- Interactive Technologies: The new area is equipped with virtual reality headsets, robotics kits, and building sets, fostering engagement and exploration.
- Open-Concept Layout: Students have access to arts and crafts, hands-on technology, and board games, along with an interactive floor for various learning games.
- Flexible Furniture Options: The space features modular seating and flip-and-nest tables that can be rearranged for different activities, maximizing usability.

Future Plans:
This initiative is part of a broader effort to create 18 such innovation spaces for middle school students within three years, backed by a $2 million partnership between M-DCPS, the College Football Playoff Foundation, and the Orange Bowl Committee. By the fall, 38 innovation spaces are expected to be operational across M-DCPS campuses.
