Jackson Family Turns Daughter’s Lemonade Idea into Growing Weekend Business
JACKSON, Miss. —
A recent pop-up market in Jackson showcased not just local vendors but also a refreshing family-run lemonade business. Sweet and Squeezed Sisters Lemonade was among the highlights at AshNicole’s pop-up market, where shoppers enjoyed freshly squeezed lemonade along with unique specialty flavors.
The initiative began with Kadyn Maclin’s idea to earn her own money on weekends after watching lemonade stands online. Kadyn shared, “I’ve seen it on YouTube and I wanted to get out on the weekend and make my own money.” Inspired by her daughter’s entrepreneurial spirit, her mother, Amber Foster, left her paralegal job to help turn the dream into reality.
Now, the family serves freshly squeezed lemonade and specialty flavors crafted from fresh fruit. One of their standout offerings is Pineapple Paradise, a delightful lemonade garnished with fresh fruit, making it a hit among customers looking to beat the Mississippi heat.
Their growing popularity has led to a loyal customer base that frequently sees them selling out of their products. This success caught the attention of AshNicole owner, Ashley Jenkins, who aimed to provide Sweet and Squeezed Sisters with a platform to reach more customers. Jenkins praised the family’s business ethos, stating, “I’m very impressed by how the business started, where it came from, and the drive they held behind their business.”
For those who missed the lemonade stand at the market, there will be more opportunities to enjoy their drinks. Sweet and Squeezed Sisters plans to attend a block party in Clinton next weekend and will return to their home location at a Mega Thrift Store on Terry Road.
For the Foster family, this journey from a simple weekend idea to a flourishing business continues, one refreshing cup at a time.
