The Roanoke Valley SPCA recently had to evacuate its facility due to a reported potential explosive in the area. In response to the evacuation order, the SPCA collaborated with Vinton Veterinary to ensure that animals undergoing surgery continued to receive care. Julie Rickmond, the SPCA’s marketing and communications director, discussed the situation and the organization’s priorities for the animals during the disruption.
