Talarico Halts Texas Senate Campaign Following Flu Diagnosis | Entertainment

Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico has paused his campaign activities due to a flu diagnosis. He shared this news on September 29 during a virtual forum hosted by the United States Hispanic Business Council, stating he had been diagnosed the previous night at a Dallas urgent care facility.

Talarico, who recently appeared at a fundraiser in New York with actor Robert De Niro, emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety and health, especially after numerous public engagements. His campaign acknowledged the cancellation of at least two events, including a fundraiser and a voter outreach event in Central Texas, as early voting approaches on October 19 ahead of the November 3 election.

His spokesperson, JT Ennis, mentioned that Talarico had been actively meeting supporters, contrasting his campaign pace with that of Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton, who has faced criticism for not being as visible. Paxton’s campaign criticized Talarico for attending a fundraiser in New York while claiming he neglects Texas voters.

There’s no confirmed date for Talarico’s return, but he is scheduled to appear at a CNN town hall on October 14.
