Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Transition Back to the UK
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are navigating a challenging return to life in the United Kingdom. Thankfully, Meghan has her friends and neighbors, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, to help ease the transition.
On Monday, the trio was spotted together at the Three Horseshoes, a historic pub in Oxfordshire. DeGeneres and de Rossi, who had previously been neighbors of the Sussexes in Montecito, fled to the UK after Donald Trump’s election in 2024. The couple has a longstanding friendship with Meghan and Harry, having even attended DeGeneres and de Rossi’s vow renewal ceremony officiated by Kris Jenner earlier this year.
While the specifics of their conversation at the pub remain private, it’s fun to imagine Meghan bringing along some of her popular apple butter as a warm autumn gift, a nod to their shared Californian heritage.
Recent Challenges
Since their move back, Meghan and Harry have faced difficulties. They received an official letter from King Charles III reminding them that they are still considered nonworking royals. Additionally, the couple was forced to change their children’s school just days into the term due to security concerns, and Meghan’s personal phone number was leaked in a parents’ WhatsApp group chat.
Despite these hurdles, Meghan and Harry are making efforts to build community in their new-old home. Just days after settling in, Meghan was spotted at the members-only club, Soho Farmhouse. Perhaps their next escape will involve a weekend getaway with Rosie O’Donnell in Ireland.
