Thelo Mediterranean Opens in Dorchester
Fresh Mediterranean flavors have arrived in Dorchester with the recent opening of Thelo Mediterranean at 860 Dot Ave. The restaurant takes over the space previously occupied by Taqueria Casa Real, offering a delectable menu that includes authentic Greek cuisine.
Owner Artan Mertiri, who also operates the neighboring Avenue Grill, aims to bring a taste of his upbringing in Greece to the local community. “We wanted to bring something different to the neighborhood,” Mertiri explains, noting his Albanian heritage and the inspiration drawn from Greek culinary traditions.
At Thelo, diners can indulge in a variety of dishes such as lamb souvlaki platters, pork gyro pitas, and East rice bowls featuring arugula, falafel, chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumbers, and hummus. Each item on the menu is freshly prepared from scratch, including five signature sauces that emphasize health and local sourcing.
Customers are welcome to enjoy their meals in a cozy dining area or opt for takeout. Mertiri expresses gratitude for the support received from the neighborhood since the restaurant’s opening on August 17, hoping it will foster a gathering space for families to spend quality time together.
Operating hours for Thelo Mediterranean are daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with plans to introduce wine and beer to the beverage lineup soon.
