The World’s Largest Pet Walk has been rescheduled for this Saturday at 8 a.m. in Waimea, following a delay due to Hurricane Nolo. This two-mile walk, organized by Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital, invites community members and their pets to join.
Participants can enjoy the health benefits of walking with pets, and no sign-up is necessary. Pets must be leashed and well-behaved. Those without pets are also welcome. For more information, contact 881-4421.
This event highlights the bond between people and animals, as noted by QNHCH spokeswoman Lynn Scully. It’s a chance to engage with therapy animals from the hospital’s pet therapy teams. Interested individuals can learn more about becoming a therapy animal team at petpartners.org or visit the hospital’s website.
