Estimated Read Time: 2 min
Tonight, Ayo Edebiri returns to the Emmys, nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Sydney Adamu on the acclaimed series The Bear. Having previously won an Emmy for the same role in 2023, her return is highly anticipated.
For the ceremony, Edebiri embraced a “fire and ice” theme with a stunning two-tone tiered dress—icy blue ruffles in the front and fiery orange drapes at the back. The plunging V-neck included large bow details, complemented by metallic-silver sandal heels.

Last year, Edebiri skipped the Emmys despite nominations for two awards because of a scheduling conflict due to filming a project in Japan. At that time, she was also promoting her film After the Hunt directed by Luca Guadagnino.

Edebiri has quickly become one of the most stylish fixtures of the ceremony and has made significant strides in Emmys history. Being awarded in 2023 made her only the third Black woman to claim the Outstanding Supporting Actress award, following Jackée Harry (1987) and Sheryl Lee Ralph (2022), and the youngest to receive three acting nominations at the Emmys.
Anticipation builds as Edebiri continues to redefine her status in the industry—don’t be surprised if she makes more history tonight!
