Collaboration Highlights
Jaeho Hwang, Mintrocket’s studio director, shared insights on this partnership, noting that although both games share an underwater setting, Subnautica provides a unique approach to exploration. He expressed enthusiasm about infusing a fresh experience into Dave the Diver.
Anthony Gallegos, creative director of Subnautica 2, emphasized the mutual admiration between the two games, suggesting that this expansion is a heartfelt tribute to both titles.
Release Date and Future of the Franchise
The Subnautica 2 DLC for Dave the Diver is expected to launch in early 2027 and is anticipated to be the game’s final expansion. However, it’s yet to be confirmed if this will signal the end of updates for the title.
