Toyotetsu Mid America Expands Owensboro Operation
Toyotetsu Mid America (TTMA), a significant automotive parts supplier for Toyota, has announced a $41 million expansion of its Owensboro facility. This investment aims to retain nearly 640 full-time jobs. Governor Andy Beshear praised the expansion, emphasizing that it reflects strong economic growth in Kentucky.
TTMA plans to enhance its operations to meet rising customer demands, investing in new equipment and automation. The company has been in the Owensboro area for 25 years and anticipates completing the expansion by 2028.
Austin Swope, TTMA’s assistant vice president, remarked that this project represents a commitment to their workforce and the future of manufacturing in North America. Daviess County officials also expressed enthusiasm about the investment, viewing it as a strong vote of confidence in the local community.
TTMA, established in 2001, is the second Toyotetsu facility in North America, alongside another plant in Somerset, Kentucky.
