Texarkana’s Oktoberfest Showcases Local Cuisine, Culture, and Music with a German Twist | News

Third Annual Oktoberfest Celebrated in Texarkana

TEXARKANA, Ark. – The Third Annual Oktoberfest was held at Front Street Plaza on Saturday evening, hosted by Main Street Texarkana. The event showcased local food, culture, and live music, all infused with a charming German flair.

Executive Director Ina McDowell recognized the invaluable contribution of approximately 50 volunteers who dedicated their time to ensure the success of this year’s festival.

After last year’s attendance exceeded 2,000 people, the festival was relocated to Front Street Festival Plaza. This change allowed for improved access to the stage for live performances, a spacious area for exotic animals and a petting zoo, along with an expanded zone for games and kids’ activities.

“This year, I want to mention that our event is in memory of Bill Scurlock, who was a great supporter of Main Street Texarkana. He owned Pecan Point Restaurant and made significant contributions to downtown. We wish to dedicate this event to him because he was always there to help us,” McDowell shared.
