Boyd Gaming Sells Eastside Cannery Property for $29M Following Housing Project Approval | Casinos & Gaming

Boyd Gaming Corp. sold the former Eastside Cannery casino site in Las Vegas for $28.8 million, purchased by a New York investment firm. The property has been approved for a new residential subdivision by Lennar Corp., which plans to build 279 single-family homes along with parks and trails.

Originally opened in 2008, the Eastside Cannery featured a casino, hotel rooms, and event space but closed during the pandemic and never reopened. Boyd had acquired the land for $45 million in early 2025 before deciding to demolish the structure, which was imploded in March 2025.

The sale marks a significant decrease in value from Boyd’s initial purchase but reflects a shift in the area towards residential development.
