Jamie Lee Curtis gives emotional tribute to Rob Reiner at the Emmys | Entertainment

The 78th annual Primetime Emmys commemorated the late filmmaker Rob Reiner during the In Memoriam segment, held on September 14. Reiner, who passed away last December along with his wife Michele Singer Reiner, was honored alongside other notable figures, including Dolly Parton and Diane Ladd.

The segment featured a soulful performance by Noah Kahan of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Jamie Lee Curtis gave an emotional tribute, highlighting Reiner’s legacy and noting that he won a posthumous award for outstanding guest actor in a comedy series for his role in FX’s “The Bear.” She remarked on Reiner’s long career, pointing out his record-breaking gap between Emmy wins.

Reiner’s tragic death came at the hands of their son, Nick Reiner, who faces multiple murder charges. Jake Reiner shared his heartache in an April essay, emphasizing the loss and the love his parents bestowed upon their family.

The heartfelt tributes highlighted not just the losses to the entertainment world, but also the deep personal sorrow experienced by Reiner’s family.
