Meet Willow: This Week’s Featured Adoptable Pet!
Location: WESTBROOK, Maine
This week’s star at the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland is Willow, a charming 2-year-old mixed-breed dog who adores people.
Willow arrived in Maine from a rescue partner in Georgia, having previously been a stray. She has quickly shown herself to be smart, eager to please, and a huge fan of belly rubs. According to Matt Blanchard from the Animal Refuge League, “Whatever she can do to be the center of attention and make you happy, that’s going to make her happy too.”
Willow is great with children but has faced challenges when meeting other dogs at the shelter. Therefore, she will need to be placed in a home without other dogs for now, although there may be potential for dog friends in the future once she settles into a home environment.
For more information about Willow, check out the Animal Refuge League’s website to see if she’s still looking for her forever home.
Interested in Meeting Willow?
Visit the Animal Refuge League’s shelter at 217 Landing Road in Westbrook. The shelter is open for adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed on Wednesdays). Adoptions operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and early arrivals can sign in at 9 a.m. to secure their spot.
Reminder: If you have dogs older than 6 months and are interested in adopting Willow, a meet-and-greet with your current dog is required before bringing a new pet home.
