Heroic Rescue of Lola the Cat
John DeBacker, known for his cat rescue efforts, displayed his heroism recently in Long Island by rescuing Lola, a cat that had been trapped for about five days behind a wall in her family’s home.
Lola’s trouble began when she slipped under a floorboard during a move. After multiple failed attempts to lure her out, Lola managed to fall behind a first-floor wall, leaving her in dire conditions. DeBacker and his team were worried for her survival.
With the help of a contractor, they began cutting a hole in the wall and using an endoscopic camera to locate her. In a careful operation, DeBacker reached through the opening and successfully pulled her out.
After her rescue, Lola was taken to an emergency vet where she was treated for dehydration and insulation ingestion. Although she’s now back with her family, she continues to face some health challenges.
DeBacker, who has been rescuing cats for 15 years, emphasizes the importance of securing pets during moves to prevent such stressful situations.
