River City Science Academy in Jacksonville has received the necessary permits for a new standalone high school on Beach Boulevard, with construction scheduled to prepare for the 2027-28 academic year. The charter school, which started in 2007, boasts multiple locations and currently enrolls over 5,000 students.
The new school will offer early college programs, dual enrollment, AP courses, and expanded STEM options, alongside enhanced athletic facilities. Virtual information sessions are planned for October, targeting 8th-graders and families interested in enrolling.
