Flooding Disrupts Travel in the Ashland Area

Flooding Cautions in Ashland, Nebraska

ASHLAND, Neb. (WOWT) – Residents are advised to exercise caution in Ashland as roads remain inaccessible due to flooding that occurred overnight on Wednesday.

In a post made at 9 a.m. by the Ashland NE Volunteer Fire Department, it was reported that all county roads are currently impassable. The department stated, “All of the county roads are either still under water, bridges washed out, or the roads are too damaged for passage.”

Travelers are encouraged to use Highway 77, Highway 6, Highway 92, and Interstate 80 to reach Ashland.

Due to the unsafe travel conditions, local schools have delayed opening on Friday. Additionally, the Ashland-Greenwood High School football game scheduled for Friday night has been relocated to DC West.
