Isaiah Washington, known for his role in “Grey’s Anatomy,” announced the passing of his wife, Jenisa Garland, more than a year after her death. He shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, revealing that she collapsed on May 31, 2025, and succumbed to a massive hemorrhagic stroke shortly thereafter.
Washington described her death as a significant shock to him and their family, urging fans to take headaches seriously, as they can indicate serious conditions. He noted that Jenisa left behind three children who continue her legacy.
In a subsequent post, he paid tribute to comedian Reggie McFadden, who introduced him to Jenisa over 30 years ago. Washington, who played Dr. Preston Burke on “Grey’s Anatomy,” was dismissed from the show in 2007 following a controversial incident but returned for a guest appearance in 2014.
