President Trump is continuing his campaign efforts in red states, with a rally planned in Vandalia, Ohio, at 7 p.m. Saturday. This follows recent stops in Texas, Oklahoma, and Alabama. Representative Mike Turner (R-Ohio) is confidently leading his reelection race with a 93% chance of victory against his Democratic opponent, Kristina Knickerbocker.
However, Republican candidates in Ohio’s Senate and gubernatorial races face challenges. Incumbent Sen. Jon Husted (R) is narrowly trailing former Sen. Sherrod Brown (D), while Vivek Ramaswamy (R) is behind Democrat Amy Acton by about seven points for the governor’s position.
Trump’s focus on these traditionally Republican areas is framed as a “sign of respect” for the upcoming midterms. After a break on Sunday, he plans to campaign in Nebraska, while Vice President Vance will be in Alaska. Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will attend a football game at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
