The Orlando Science Center has officially renamed its movie and performance venue the VyStar Adventure Theater, following a $1 million contribution from VyStar Credit Union. This investment is part of the center’s Unlock Science Campaign, aimed at enhancing access to STEM education in the region.
The theater will serve as an interactive space where visitors can watch educational films, attend live science demonstrations, and engage in community presentations. Leadership from both organizations, including Orlando Science Center President JoAnn Newman and VyStar President Brian Wolfburg, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Newman emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating it highlights their shared commitment to community investment.
McElroy from VyStar reinforced their goal of promoting education as a means to strengthen communities and inspire future generations. The newly named theater aims to create enriching experiences for families and visitors of all ages, making science learning more accessible and engaging.
The event culminated in a preview of a 3D film and an interactive demonstration called KABOOM!, showcasing various scientific principles.
