Tenchijin Becomes Official Main Partner of “Science Castle Asia 2026” to Motivate Future Researchers in Asia

Tenchijin Inc. Participates as Official Main Partner at Science Castle Asia 2026

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – 3 September 2026 – Tenchijin Inc., a space-tech innovator established as a venture of JAXA, took part as the Official Main Partner of “Science Castle Asia 2026,” one of Asia’s largest research conferences for students, held on August 22–23 at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).

The event brought together 150 student research teams from 11 countries, selected from approximately 300 applications. They presented research focused on various areas, including environment, water, agriculture, healthcare, and AI. Over the two days, Tenchijin showcased its satellite data solutions, including “KnoWaterleak,” and participated in judging the student poster review.

In a notable highlight, Ryotaro Horii, Global Business Development, delivered the Main Partner Remark and presented four Tenchijin Poster Awards. Representing Japan’s space industry, Tenchijin also co-hosted a workshop with the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA) for around 400 students.

Workshop: “Eyes from Space: Solving Everyday Problems with Satellite Data”

Yasuo Shirai, Vice President of Engineering, presented insights about how optical, thermal-infrared, and radar satellites observe essential facets such as water, farmland, forests, and disasters, featuring the KnoWaterleak technology. In an interactive challenge, students took on the role of a city mayor to decide the location of a new hospital, combining satellite and ground data in their decision-making process. Shirai emphasized that the power of satellite data is maximized when integrated with local knowledge and human insight.

Quote from Yasuo Shirai – VP of Engineering, Tenchijin Inc | Japan:

“The energy of the 400 students in that hall was extraordinary. Their questions about water, agriculture, and the environment resonate deeply with the challenges we address with satellite data daily. Co-hosting with MYSA illustrated that the distance between an Asian classroom and space technology is shorter than many realize, and I hope some students will contribute to building this industry with us in the future.”
