Weekend Freeway Closures in Phoenix Area (Sept. 25-28)
Attention Drivers:
Closures are scheduled along freeways and ramps this weekend for improvement projects. Please allow extra travel time and consider detour routes. Below is a summary of the planned restrictions:
Eastbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway)
- Closed: Between 75th and 51st avenues
- Timing: 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 28)
- Reason: Widening project
- On-Ramps Closed: Union Hills Drive and Bell Road
- Detour: Use eastbound Union Hills Drive to 51st Avenue.
Southbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway)
- Closed: From Indian School Road to Interstate 10
- Timing: 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 28)
- Reason: Interchange improvement project
- Ramps Closed: East- and westbound I-10; Glendale Avenue, Cardinals Way, and Camelback Road
- Detour: Use 83rd, 91st, or 99th avenues to connect with I-10.
Southbound State Route 51
- Closed: Between Indian School Road and I-10
- Timing: 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 28)
- Reason: Pavement maintenance
- Ramps Closed: To eastbound and westbound I-10 and eastbound Loop 202
- Detour: Use 16th or 24th streets to I-10 or Loop 202.
Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway)
- Closed: Between Arizona Avenue and Price Road
- Timing: 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 28)
- Reason: Widening project
- Ramps Closed: To northbound Loop 101; on-ramps at Gilbert, Cooper, and McQueen roads
- Detour: Use Pecos or Germann roads.
Southbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway)
- Closed: Between Shea Boulevard and Loop 202
- Timing: 9 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 26)
- Reason: Pavement maintenance
- Detour: Use westbound Shea Boulevard to Scottsdale or Hayden roads.
Northbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway)
- Closed: Between Loop 202 and Shea Blvd
- Timing: 9 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 27)
- Reason: Pavement maintenance
- Detour: Use Scottsdale Road or McClintock Drive/Hayden Road.
Eastbound Loop 303
- Closed: Between 43rd Avenue and I-17
- Timing: 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 28)
- Reason: Bridge construction
- Detour: Use northbound 43rd Avenue to eastbound Dove Valley Road.
State Route 347
- Narrowed: One lane in both directions between Casa Blanca and Riggs Roads
- Timing: 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 28)
- Reason: Paving
