Joe Lycett’s New Role on Celebrity Traitors Amid Cancellation of Travel Show
Comedian Joe Lycett, known for his engaging persona, is set to debut in the second season of Celebrity Traitors, hosted by Claudia Winkleman. The new season will see contestants strategizing for a chance to win money for their chosen charities, taking place in a scenic Scottish castle.
However, just before his anticipated appearance, Lycett’s travel show, Travel Man, was unexpectedly canceled by Channel 4. He had taken over the series in 2021, where he’d journeyed to various destinations with celebrity guests, concluding with an episode set in Malmö in early 2025.
Among notable guests from Travel Man were stars like Bill Bailey, Katherine Parkinson, and Aisling Bea. James Acaster, a returning guest on Celebrity Traitors, expressed concerns about having multiple comedians in the competition, fearing it might lead to a perceived alliance among them.
The new season of Celebrity Traitors features a star-studded lineup including Romesh Ranganathan, Rob Beckett, and Miranda Hart, along with several other well-known personalities. The show is scheduled to premiere on BBC One on October 1.
