Exciting news is on the horizon for food lovers in Great Neck! The team behind Paprika has announced the upcoming launch of Elisha, a fast-casual dining option inspired by street food. With plans for a soft opening shortly after Passover—pending final preparations—the restaurant will operate under VHQ kosher certification.
Elisha is named in honor of David Zaken’s father, Elisha Zaken Z”L, who passed away ten years ago. David, along with his wife Roni—who is also the chef at Paprika—will lead the culinary vision for this promising new spot.

A Focus on Shawarma and Fast Casual Favorites
At the heart of Elisha’s culinary offerings will be an impressive shawarma program, featuring two dedicated rotisserie spits—one for beef and one for chicken. This setup will enable them to serve classic Israeli-style shawarma quickly and consistently, aligning perfectly with their fast-casual dining approach.
The menu will also showcase a variety of handheld delights and plated dishes, all crafted to deliver bold flavors and swift service.

Menu Highlights and Returning Concepts
While the menu is set for finalization soon, several exciting items have already been confirmed:
- Pressed paninis, including the beloved “Toastie”, which first debuted in 2017 during Paprika’s NYC phase.
- Juicy hamburgers
- Thin-sliced rib steak served in a pita
- Challah schnitzel sandwiches
- Pulled asado served in frena bread
- Merguez cigars
- Hummus sambusak
More dishes and rotating specials will be introduced, all designed by Chef Roni, who oversees Paprika’s menu as well.
Expanding the Paprika Brand in Great Neck
The introduction of Elisha marks a significant expansion for the Paprika team, offering a distinct format that caters to the local market. While Paprika is known for its extensive menu and sit-down atmosphere, Elisha aims to provide a quicker, more accessible dining experience focused on high-quality fast-casual cuisine.

Elisha is set to open at 25 Cutter Mill Road, Great Neck, NY, conveniently located adjacent to Bravo Kosher Pizza.
The restaurant will carry kosher certification from VHQ.
With a soft opening planned for shortly after Passover, more details will be released as the final touches are completed and the menu is solidified.
